Personal Brand Identity & Website Design for a Tabletop Gaming Designer
Client: Andy Hobday
Work: Web Design
The Problem
Renowned game designer Andy Hobday wanted to create an online space where tabletop gaming enthusiasts and fans of fantasy & historical miniatures could connect. But to do that, he needed more than just a website—he needed a cohesive personal brand that would bring his projects together, attract the right audience, and build an engaged community. The challenge was to create a brand identity that felt welcoming, modern, and in tune with the gaming world while staying true to Andy’s expertise and passion.
The Solution
We kicked things off with a strategy session to define Andy’s personal brand identity and tone of voice. It was clear that the brand needed to be approachable and inclusive while bringing a fresh, contemporary feel to the tabletop gaming space.
With that in mind, I developed a full brand identity system, including:
A logo suite that balanced tradition with modernity.
A fresh, inviting color palette.
Custom brand fonts that felt both accessible and stylish.
An illustrative icon style that tied everything together visually.
Once the branding was in place, I built a website in Framer that served as the hub of the community. Key features included:
A blog for Andy’s thoughts, updates, and insights into game design.
A dedicated game page to showcase all of his various projects in one place.
An email subscription form to gather subscribers for future mail-outs and community engagement.
The Result
With a strong brand identity and a user-friendly website, Andy now has a platform that not only showcases his work but also fosters a thriving community. The brand feels modern yet rooted in gaming traditions, making it appealing to both seasoned players and newcomers.
The website has become a go-to space for updates, discussions, and engagement, helping Andy grow his audience and bring his gaming projects under one unified brand. With a solid foundation in place, his community is set to keep expanding.
